Lectromec's ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory supports wire, cable, connector, and wiring system component testing for aerospace and other high-reliability electrical systems. Our lab work spans electrical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, and environmental test disciplines, with programs built around published standards, customer specifications, and real-world operating conditions.

For customers who already know the test method or specification they need, Lectromec's Test Catalog provides method-level details, pricing, and available standards. For projects that require additional planning, Lectromec helps define the right test approach, organize qualification efforts, and determine when a custom test may be the better path.

Lectromec's Laboratory

Lectromec's laboratory is focused on the performance, reliability, and degradation of aircraft wiring systems and EWIS components. That specialization allows us to support standard qualification work as well as more complex engineering questions involving installation conditions, aging, failure modes, material comparisons, and operating environments.

The lab combines established test methods with specialized equipment, engineering review, and practical experience with aerospace wire systems. Whether the project is a single verification test or a larger qualification campaign, the goal is the same: produce clear, defensible data that helps customers make engineering, certification, quality, or maintenance decisions.

Test Project Process

Most test projects begin with a review of the objective: certification, qualification, comparison testing, failure investigation, product development, or another engineering need. From there, Lectromec works with the customer to identify the applicable standard, specification, test condition, sample configuration, and reporting requirements.

Once the scope is defined, the lab confirms the test setup, performs the testing, documents the results, and provides a report suitable for engineering, quality, or certification review. The process is designed to keep the project practical, traceable, and aligned with the decision the data needs to support.

Custom Testing

A significant portion of Lectromec's laboratory work is custom testing. Roughly half of the projects we support involve a modified method, combined exposure, unique fixture, non-standard condition, or test approach developed around a specific engineering question.

Custom testing is often needed when a published standard does not fully represent the application, when new technology is ahead of existing standards, when a customer needs to recreate a field condition, or when a failure mode requires a more focused investigation. These projects may involve combinations of temperature, altitude, humidity, electrical stress, mechanical loading, abrasion, fluids, aging, or installation-specific constraints.

Lectromec's lab is staffed by engineers with the knowledge and experience to understand open-ended technical requirements and turn them into practical test plans. The result is not just a pass/fail outcome, but data that supports design decisions, qualification strategy, root-cause analysis, risk assessment, or service-life planning.
