Shield Strand Coating

The shield plating of cables is performed in a similar manner as is performed for wire conductors. Typically, this involves exposing the shielding to one or more chemicals to see if there is a reaction of the underlying copper conductor. For the NEMA27500 cables, this method is applicable to tin, silver, and nickel.
