This test is to be used to evaluate the cross-linking of certain types of wire insulation. In this test, the sample is exposed to a temperature above the wire rating for a short duration. If the sample insulation has not been properly cross-linked, then the elevated temperature and mechanical stressing of this test will cause the insulation to weaken and likely fail a dielectric voltage withstand test performed after the environmental and mechanical stressing.
Our Process
Visually inspect sample for defects.
Place samples on jig with appropriate weight to maintain tension.
Place test jig in an oven set at the specified temperature.
Remove test jig after specified duration.
Perform bend test with samples.
Perform wet dielectric voltage withstand test with samples.
Report Results.
