This test evaluates the electrical insulating materials used under severe ambient conditions – test methods for evaluating resistance to tracking and erosion of insulation specimens as specified in IEC 60587. The test is performed in accordance with the procedures defined in the standard to verify compliance with the applicable requirements.
Test specimens are prepared and conditioned as specified, then subjected to the defined test procedure. Results are compared against the acceptance criteria established in the product specification to determine conformance.
