Method 4.7.20 is a cross-sectional area measurement test for carbon-based conductive fibers. A cross-section of the conductor is examined using at least 400X magnification, and the cross-sectional area is measured in at least three different locations.

The purpose is to determine the cross-sectional area of the entire conductor, which is a critical parameter for establishing the current-carrying capacity and resistance characteristics of the carbon fiber conductor.
