Section 5.5 of TIA/EIA-568-B.2 specifies that each four-pair horizontal cable shall be terminated in an eight-position modular jack at the work area, meeting IEC 60603-7 requirements plus mechanical and transmission performance criteria.
Pin/pair assignments shall follow T568A or optionally T568B configurations. Connector insertion loss must not exceed specified limits based on category rating.
