Sometimes referred to as the Dielectric Constant, the capacitance of a wire/cable is of particular interest for data applications (limited importance for power applications). Those wires/cables with high capacitance values can significantly impact signal quality, particularly high speed data applications.
This test, which can be performed on a wire or cable, measures the specimen’s capacitance per unit length.

Our Process
Visually examine the specimen for any damage or defects. Record any anomalies.
Immerse the specimen in distilled water bath for the specified time duration with the specimen leads above the wire line.
Apply a test voltage to the specimen and measure the capacitance with a capacitance bride.
Report the capacitance and dielectric constant.
