Section 4.3.11 of ANSI/NEMA WC 27500 specifies the bend test for aerospace wire and cable. The specimen is wound around a mandrel under specified tension to evaluate the wire’s ability to withstand bending stress without damage to conductor or insulation.
This test simulates the bending stresses that wires experience during harness fabrication and installation in aerospace applications.
