The Adhesion of Conductors test measures adhesion of each conductor layer of a cable to the cable’s dielectric core.
Testing is performed using a tensile force tester which is used to pull the outer layer under evaluation from the inner layer under evaluation. Two examinations are made in this test:
- Removal of the outer conductive layer from the dielectric core.
- Removal of the dielectric core from the inner conductor.
The adhesion of each conductor is identified as the maximum tensile reading recorded from the force tester at the time adhesive bonding between the layers is broken.
