Risk Assessment

Process management, focused maintenance, and improving reliability are some of the main drivers for performing system risk assessments. Regardless of the need, acting upon the results of a thorough risk assessment can provide return on investment through reduced equipment downtime and prevention of personnel injuries.

Although, Lectromec’s technology and research have been mainly focused on aerospace for 30 years, our core technology is industry agnostic and can be applied to any interconnected system in need of risk assessment. The concepts and needs of aircraft and land-based systems are sufficiently similar that risk assessment can be performed on both with Lectromec’s technologies.

If design data are available, they can be imported into the tools with little or no effort.

Even with an existing platform or system with limited data, we can supplement the data to provide a basis for assessment. Although this is not ideal, the assessment can point to areas that may require further review and analysis.

EWIS RAT

In the aerospace industry, a vehicle’s Electrical Wire Interconnection System (EWIS) consists of all components necessary to deliver electrical power from where it is produced to where it is consumed. This includes power buses, circuit breakers, relays, connectors, splices, wires, and more. Lectromec’s software tool, the EWIS RAT, provides a systematic method for the gathering and assessment of the system’s risk. Fault Isolation

Fault isolation without the right tools can involve countless man-hours and system downtime. To address this, Lectromec developed the DelTest, a technology for use in-situ or in the lab as a non-destructive means of detecting wire/cable insulation breaches, even if located deep in the wiring harnesses. Used by itself or with point-to-point, the DelTest provides superior wire insulation breach detection compared to current technologies. Find out more
