Aerospace Risk Assessment
A great deal of Lectromec’s work has been focused on risk assessment, both aerospace as well as non-aerospace-related risk. Below is a discussion on aerospace-related risk.
The reliable performance of an aircraft’s Electrical Wire Interconnection System (EWIS) is necessary for uncompromised aircraft operation. This is true for both new and existing aircraft. Lectromec has been working on new and existing EWIS assessments for more than 30 years.
New Aircraft
The challenges faced by EWIS designers are becoming more complex – from the tighter tolerances on signal fidelity to meeting EWIS risk regulatory assessment requirements. From system separation ADMT to risk assessment EWIS RAT, Lectromec has the tools and experience that can help you and your organization easily move through the process.
EWIS RAT
The EWIS RAT is software tool designed to simplify the process of analyzing Electrical Wire Interconnect System (EWIS) hazards, potential damage to structure, flammability issues, as well as provide type certification automation capabilities for aircraft electrical systems. This tool and methodology introduce a fresh perspective to the maintenance and upkeep of EWIS. Find out more
ADMT
Developed by Lectromec in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the software tool simulates the physical effects of electrical arc damage. The data from the tool provides the necessary information to show compliance with FAA regulation 25.1707. This can be combined with the EWIS RAT for a comprehensive risk assessment. Find out more
EWIS DER Services
Lectromec now offers Designated Engineering Representative (DER) services for EWIS covering the FAA part 25.1700 series. Find out more
Existing Aircraft
Whether your platform is private, commercial, or military, aging platforms face a set of challenges different than new aircraft. This may include directed maintenance, replacement planning, upgrade certification, and obsolescence forecasting. Lectromec offers a number of service areas for existing platforms.
Aircraft Sustainment
Aircraft sustainment is becoming ever more critical as platforms are being pushed to fly longer than their originally certified life. Service Life Assessment Projects (SLAP), Service Life Extension Projects (SLEP), and Mechanical Subsystem Integrity Program (MECSIP) are some of the examples where EWIS assessment may be performed. Lectromec’s services can identify the remaining life of your aircraft (or fleet) to support a data driven approach for maintaining airworthiness of the electrical system. Find out more
