Arc Track Resistance Test Equipment
In any system that requires a significant degree of reliability, all possible failure modes should be considered. As electrical systems and devices become more complicated with greater density of electrical wires and components, electrical arcing poses an increasing threat to system reliability.
To address the testing needs of our customers, Lectromec offers testing equipment such as Wet & Dry Arc Track Resistance as well as our newest equipment that meets the European specifications on electrical wire insulation. Lectromec currently produces arc track test equipment that meets the following specifications:
- MIL-STD-2223 Method 3007 [Models: LEC1000]
- MIL-STD-2223 Method 3006 [Models: LEC1000]
- SAE AS4373 Method 508 [Models: LEC1002, LEC1003, LEC1006]
- SAE AS4373 Method 509 [Models: LEC1001, LEC1003, LEC1006]
- PrEN 3475 – 603 [Models: LEC1004]
- PrEN 3475 – 604 [Models: LEC1004]
- EN 3475 – 605 [Models: LEC1004]
- DIN-EN 6059-502 [Models: LEC1005]
- ASTM 3032 Section 28 and 29 (Wet and Dry Arc Tracking) [Model 1007]
Test equipment can be adjusted to meet your particular needs. Typically, the equipment will include the following:
- Circuit control cabinet
- Load resistor cabinet
- UV filtered test stand (interchangeable test stand if designed for multiple test specifications)
- Motor-generator based on the specification needs
- Connection cables
- User manual
- Training video
The latest update to the line of test equipment is the LEC1006 Arc Track Resistance Test System. This newest generation has been engineered to be expandable to accommodate changes or additions to existing arc track resistance test requirements. The LEC1006 tester is more modular and dramatically reduces downtime for standard maintenance. Furthermore, the modular design can easily accommodate to configuration changes in cases in which the research needs to go beyond the scope of the test standard.
