Method 4.7.17 is a termination crimp test for carbon-based conductive fibers. Three size 26 uninsulated conductors, each approximately 3 feet (0.91 m) in length, are tested.
When terminated with an appropriately sized crimp termination and standard tool, the terminated conductor shall withstand life testing in accordance with 4.7.10 (the flex life test).
This test evaluates whether carbon-based conductive fiber conductors can be reliably terminated using standard crimp techniques and whether those terminations maintain integrity through repeated mechanical cycling.
