Section 6.3 of ICEA S-81-570 specifies environmental stress cracking tests per ASTM D1693. Specimens are prepared from completed cable or extrusion material and exposed to a 10% concentration cracking agent solution.
The requirement is no cracks for 75°C Wall Type II or III materials. This test identifies insulation materials susceptible to stress cracking in the presence of chemical agents.
