This test measures the temperature rise of connector when subjected to current loading as specified in EIA-364. The specimen is connected to a current source and the temperature is monitored at multiple points as current is applied at increasing levels.
Temperature rise data is used to establish current carrying capacity (ampacity) ratings and to verify that the specimen does not exceed safe operating temperatures under the rated current load.
