This test measures the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of connector as specified in EIA-364. The specimen is tested using a transfer impedance or shielding attenuation method to determine how effectively the shield attenuates electromagnetic interference.
Shielding effectiveness is critical for cables used in electromagnetically sensitive environments. Higher shielding effectiveness values indicate better protection against EMI/RFI. Results must meet the minimum requirements of the applicable specification.
