This test evaluates the resistance of connector to corrosion when exposed to salt fog (salt spray) conditions as specified in EIA-364. Specimens are placed in a salt fog chamber and exposed to a controlled salt solution mist for the specified duration.
After exposure, specimens are examined for evidence of corrosion, degradation, or loss of function. This test simulates the corrosive marine and coastal environments that wire, cable, and connector products may encounter in service.
