Section 9.1 of ANSI/ICEA S-94-649-2021 specifies that all cables shall undergo production tests to determine compliance. Tests include conductor DC resistance, cross-sectional area/diameter, physical and aging tests per ASTM D412, and jacket tests.
Table 9-1 specifies specimen counts: 3 specimens for conductor shield elongation after aging, insulation tensile/elongation (aged and unaged), hot creep, and jacket tensile/elongation; 1 specimen for adhesion tension, heat shock, and cold bend.
