The fluid absorption test evaluates the ability of a cable sleeve to prevent absorption of external fluids. Testing is performed using fluids as identified in the sample’s product specification.
A test sample is cut longitudinally to create a flat strip of sleeving. This strip is affixed to a dry piece of cardboard and mounted to the test stand at a 45-degree angle. A drip bottle is positioned to drip the selected fluid(s) onto the test sample for the duration as identified in the product specification. Following the test duration, the cardboard layer is inspected; to pass the test, the cardboard must be free of any fluid.
Note that pricing will vary based on the fluid(s) requested for testing.
